CHRIS SHINN

Chris made his acting debut for Bawds in John Godber's LUCKY SODS (Morris Sod). His most recent role was in THE MAN IN THE IRON MASK (pictured right as Planchet).

He started acting many years ago with a company based in Fulbourn near Cambridge. Appearances at that time included HAY FEVER (Sandy), NO TIME FOR FIG LEAVES (Nigel), and FOOLS RUSH IN (Joe).  Chris went on to become a regular performer with Waterbeach Community Players appearing in many productions including GASLIGHT (Sgt. Rough), A COLLIER'S TUESDAY TEA (Dan), PACK OF LIES (Bob), BILLY LIAR (Geoffrey) and over 80 appearances as the Chairman of the Beachcombers Music Hall.

He has also written, directed and appeared in several pantomimes for Waterbeach including DICK WHITTINGTON, PUSS IN BOOTS and ALADDIN.  Productions for other Cambridge-based companies include BEDROOM FARCE (Malcolm), SISTERLY FEELINGS (Simon), THE LAST AMATEUR PANTOMIME (Dame), WOMAN IN MIND (Bill), TALKING HEADS (Graham), DRINKING COMPANION (Harry), DEPARTURE (Dennis), BACKGROUND ARTIST (Alfred), BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT (Sir David Metcalfe QC), DON'T DRESS FOR DINNER (George), MURDER BY MISADVENTURE (Paul Riggs)  DICK WHITTINGTON (Sarah the Cook), A CHORUS OF DISAPPROVAL (Jarvis Huntley-Pike),  SNOW WHITE (as Nanny Annie), A GAME OF THREE HALVES (Nick), MURDER IN REHEARSAL (Simon), CINDERELLA (Ugly Sister - Cynth), FAST FOOD SMALL AND SMALL TALK, a double bill (Gordon Bryson - in EIGHT SECONDS, Trevor - in BARBECUE), SLEEPING BEAUTY (Dame Dotty Dooright), ROLE PLAY (Derek Jobson), MOTHER GOOSE (Mother Goose), BABES IN THE WOOD (Nessie), THE PIED PIPER (Dame Lottie), JACK AND THE BEANSTALK (Dame Trott) and ALI BABA AND THE FORTY THIEVES (Lady GaGa Baba), WOMAN IN MIND (Gerald), ROBINSON CRUSOE (Dame Camlla), PUSS IN BOOTS (Dame Delia), ENTERTAINING ANGELS (Bardolph) and THEFT (John Miles).

Three of Chris's pantomimes (written with Julie Petrucci), SLEEPING BEAUTY, ROBINSON CRUSOED AND THE PIRATE TREASURE and ALI BABA AND THE FORTY THIEVBES have all been published.

Directing credits include LUCKY SODS, SUMMER END and LOOK WHO'S TALKING.
