Margaret has been actively involved in a
wide variety of theatre for many years and has appeared in many productions of
plays and musicals. Her most recent acting role for Bawds was in LUCKY SODS
(Annie). Other productions in and around Cambridge include
ABELARD AND HELOISE (Abbess), SPRING AND PORT WINE (Betsy Jane), OLIVER!
(Mrs Sowerberry), SWEENEY TODD (Mrs Lovett), THEY CAME TO A CITY
(Lady Loxfield),
WAITING IN THE WINGS (May Davenport), THIS HAPPY BREED (Ethel Gibbons) and LLOYD
GEORGE KNEW MY FATHER (Maud Boothroyd). She has also made countless appearances
in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.
Margaret is also a founder member of The Penguin Club, Cambridge's amateur
technical organisation. Her costume skills have been utilised many times by
Bawds and for other companies including THE LION, THE WITCH AND
THE WARDROBE, THE MIDNIGHT FOLK and ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING-GLASS, A CHORUS
OF DISAPPROVAL and IMPROBABLE FICTION. Margaret costumed the Bawds productions of LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES
, A
MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, AN IDEAL HUSBAND, THE GHOST TRAIN, THE ELEPHANT MAN, KATHERINE HOWARD, THE
SECRET GARDEN, THE WINSLOW BOY, TREASURE ISLAND, THE MOONSTONE and THE
IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST.
Directing credits for other companies include LADY WINDERMERE'S FAN,
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, HAY FEVER, HOBSON'S CHOICE and CHARLEY'S AUNT.Margaret
