Peter Norwood
Peter Norwood sadly is no longer with us. Having initially overcome a long period of ill-health and after making plans for a move to Scotland, he suffered a setback from which he did not recover. His untimely death in June 2002 was a great shock to all of his friends and colleagues in the Cambridge theatre movement. He will be sorely missed, but his work as a designer of great skill and imagination lives on in the memories of all those who had the privilege to know him and witness his contribution to a wealth of theatrical productions.
Peter's design credits were many and varied and include work for The Royal
Opera House in London, many commercial companies and the National Trust.
Design credits for Bawds include: THE LARK and TRELAWNY OF THE WELLS (both of
which he also directed), COMUS, THE CHERRY ORCHARD, SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER, THE
MADNESS OF GEORGE III, ANNE OF THE THOUSAND DAYS, THE CRUCIBLE, THE REVENGER'S
TRAGEDY, TERRA NOVA, ALL MY SONS, THE LEARNED LADIES, TOM
JONES, THE DOUBLE DEALER, THE SEA, EQUUS, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM , LES
LIAISONS DANGEREUSES, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS and 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD.
Design credits for other companies include: A FLEA IN HER EAR, DON PASQUALE, THE
HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, THE ACCRINGTON PALS and GREAT
EXPECTATIONS.
